Episode 9: SPCXVII Preview: Drew & Melanie

With SPCXVII only weeks away; Brent sits down with 5x AEA Champions Drew & Mel to go over the upcoming show at Patterson Ice Center.

Drew’s Background: Drew played high school hockey for 4 years at Midland High School. Graduating in 2003 he took his hockey “prowess” to the intramural and beer league ranks while at Western Michigan University. Having siblings that also played hockey growing up there were lots of basement hockey brawls as well. While playing in a charity hockey tournament in Kalamazoo he met his wife Melanie ("she couldn’t resist my sweet locker room dad bod").

Mel's Background: Mel grew up with a brother that played hockey and was a huge influence on her. "He’s a goalie and I’m not a psycho though". I pretty much put the skates on the minute I could walk, and was in learn to skate around 3-4 years old. I spent a good amount of time playing at Lakeland Hockey Arena in Waterford, MI (shout out Dylan Larkin).
